Big Kahuna Burger – Pulp Fiction Street Art Mural

This 9-layer stencil-spray-painted mural was created for Dirty Moes Bar & Grill in Mooloolaba, capturing the iconic Big Kahuna Burger scene from Pulp Fiction. The brief called for a grungy, street-inspired artwork that would elevate the restaurant’s interior and amplify its bold personality. The design was carefully positioned beside the kitchen entrance, where an existing orange neon arrow glows against the wall. Rather than compete with the neon, the mural was designed to interact with it. The warm light appears to illuminate Samuel L. Jackson’s hair, integrating the artwork seamlessly into the space.

Executed using stencils, the piece uses bold, contrasting oranges and reds, juxtaposed with deep greens to create drama, depth, and visual punch. The gritty spray-painted texture reinforces the raw energy of street art while maintaining clarity and impact from a distance.

More than a feature wall, the mural sets the tone for the venue. It enhances the bar and grill’s edgy atmosphere, creating an arty, cinematic backdrop that frequently features in Dirty Moes’ social media marketing campaigns. The result is immersive hospitality art that not only transforms the space but also strengthens the brand identity and visual storytelling within the restaurant.
